Originally from Athens Greece, Alex is a London-based writer/director. He directed his first short film, Twinsanity, at the age of 18, and ever since he pursued a career as a filmmaker. His work centers around strong, character-driven films, and his preferred genre is dark comedy.

He is a graduate of the MET Film School, and to date he has directed 7 narrative short films, including his graduation film The Mockroom, which participated in several film festivals in the UK, and was acquired by the comedy platform Twisted Mirror. Moreover, his latest short film, Rookie, was screened at Oscar and BAFTA-qualifying film festivals such as In the Palace and LA Shorts and his next short film The Test has received 45.000€ funding from the Greek Film Center and Microfilm.

Alex made his TV comedy debut in Greece with Luv’s Story, starring Niki Vakali (Worlds Apart), and has successfully raised capital for his debut feature film, National Road. Apart from his debut feature, he is currently developing two TV series. Ben and The End, a dark comedy about Charron, the mythical Greek ferryman is trying to keep suicidal Ben alive. And Antiparos, a whodunit murder mystery series based on the novel Crimes in Antiparos, by Nikos Faroupos.

In recent years, Alex has been mentored by Alexandros Avranas, winner of the Venice Silver Lion award, and he took part in the CIAK 2019 Screenwriting Lab.
